Ananda Ranasinghe

Ananda Ranasinghe is a quantitative biologist specializing in the ecology of organisms living in estuarine and marine sediments. He received his undergraduate degree in Zoology, with honors, from the University of Sri Lanka in Colombo in 1975 and a master's degree in Marine Science (Biology) from the University of Alabama in 1983. Ananda joined SCCWRP in October 1999 and his current research interests include developing and improving benthic ecological indicators and understanding benthic community dynamics in the Southern California Bight, coastal and estuarine California, and the west coast of the United States.
