Dr. Nikolay Nezlin
Nikolay P. Nezlin is a biological oceanographer who specializes in the analysis of satellite data. Before joining SCCWRP in 2002, he received his M. A. degree in Zoology from the Moscow State University in 1977, and his Ph.D. degree in Biological Oceanography in 1983 from the P. P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology in Moscow, Russia. He is a specialist in oceanography, statistical methods, computer programming, processing and analysis of remote-sensed data. His present research efforts focus on detecting variability and factors associated with phytoplankton blooms and plumes of terrestrial runoff using remote sensing data and detection of Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW) effluent plumes in the nearshore zone using in situ oceanographic measurements.
